Gil Berman - 4th Kyu
Gil passed the 4th Kyu test. The test included 36 unarmed techniques on either the left or right side, and performing the weapons katas: Ken Suburi, Happo Kiri, Ken Awase, Bokken Kata 2, Jo 1-31. Jo 1, and Jo 2.

Gregg Berg - 4th Kyu
Gregg passed the 4th Kyu test. The test included 36 unarmed techniques on either the left or right side, and performing the weapons katas: Ken Suburi, Happo Kiri, Ken Awase, Bokken Kata 2, Jo 1-31. Jo 1, Jo 2 and Jo Awase
Gregg has been regularly attending class at Atlanta School of Aikido for almost 2 years.

Anthony Moresi - 6th Kyu
Anthony passed the 6th Kyu test. The test included 8 unarmed techniques on either the left or right side, and performing the weapons katas: Ken Suburi, Happo Kiri, and Jo 1-31.
Anthony has been regularly attending class at Atlanta School of Aikido for about 6 months.

Joanna Przeluska - 5th Kyu
Kewin Muhammad - 5th Kyu
Joanna and Keywin passed their 5th Kyu test. They both far exceeded the requirements for the 5th kyu. The test required 16 unarmed techniques on both the left or right side and they both demonstrated 32 techniques, plus 3 additional techniques of their choosing. They both demonstrated the following weapons katas: Jo 1-31, Happo Kiri, Bokken Kata 2 and Joanne also demonstrated Jo 1 and 2.

Thomas Murphy - 2nd Kyu
Thomas passed the 2nd Kyu test. The test included 64 unarmed techniques on both the left or right side, plus 3 on 1 randori. Thomas also demonstrated the following weapons katas: Jo 1-31, 1, 2, and 3, Jo Awase, Kumi Jo, Ken Suburi, Happo Kiri, Bokken Kata 2, Ken Awase, and Kumi Tachi.

Brian Sutton - 2nd Kyu
Brian passed the 2nd Kyu test. The test included 64 unarmed techniques on both the left or right side, plus 2 on 1, and 3 on 1 randori. Brian also demonstrated the following weapons katas: Jo 1-31, 1, 2, and 3, Jo Awase, Kumi Jo, Ken Suburi, Happo Kiri, Bokken Kata 2, Ken Awase, and Kumi Tachi.
Brian has been practicing Aikido under Sensei Larry Feldman for about 7 years.

Joanna Przeluska - 6th Kyu
Joanna passed the 6th Kyu test. The test included 8 unarmed techniques on either the left or right side, plus 3 unarmed techniques of her choosing and performing the weapons katas: Jo 31, and 1.
Joanna is from northern Poland and has been in the United States about 5 years. She has recently finished her 2 year degree in chemistry and is continuing her education to become either a pharmacist or pharmacologist. While in Poland she was introduced to martial arts by her father and has studied Judo for several years. Since moving to the USA she has wanted to continue her martial arts practice but was unable to find a school that she liked until she discovered the Atlanta School of Aikido. She has been training with the Atlanta School Aikido 2-3 days a week for about 2 1/2 months and enjoys every class.

Gil Berman passed his 5th Kyu test. The Aikido portion of the test consisted of 16 unarmed techniques executed on either right or left side, and a weapons test which included Ken Suburi, Happo Giri and Ken Awase.
Kewin Muhammad - 6th Kyu
Kewin passed the 6th Kyu test. The test included 6 unarmed techniques inside and outside and performing the weapons katas: Ken Suburi, and Happo Giri.
Kewin has been with the Atlanta School Aikido for about 4 months. He started training in Aiki Jijitsu under Sensei Ali Shabazz in Washington D.C. In 1994. Kewin started Aikido under Sensei Fareed in Atlanta for about a year but when Sensei Fareed quit teaching Kewin sought out Sensei Larry Feldman which he says "has been A wonderful expericence".

Larry Feldman - Godan (5th Dan)
Larry Feldman was promoted to Godan (5th Dan) by Mark Leidig Rokudan (6th Dan) the Chief Instructor of the School of Inner Martial Arts.
Larry Feldman, Chief Instructor of Atlanta School of Aikido started his martial arts career in 1973 studying Hakko Ryu Ju Jitsu, a traditional Japanese style of Ju Jitsu. Larry has been studying Aikido since 1978 and has been a student of Mark Leidig since 1985, and Shizuo Imaizumi from 1986 to 2005.

Jay Rosa - 3rd Kyu
Jay Rosa tested and passed his 3rd Kyu test. Jay now has the privilege to wear a Hakama (black pleated pants). Jay demonstrated 80 techniques executed on the right or left side for the empty hand portion of the test. On the weapons test Jay demonstrated Jo Kata 31, 1, 2, 3, and Ken Soburi, Bokken Kata 2 and Ken Awase. Jay also survived a round of Randori against two attackers.
Jay began his martial arts training in 1993 after joining the Navy. He studied Taikwondo for a year in Orlando, FL before the Navy moved him to Jacksonville, FL. In 1994, Jay started Aikido training at the Aikido Center of Jacksonville with Chris Rozett Sensei who was affiliated with the United States Aikido Federation (USAF). He earned his 5th Kyu in 1995 and remained studying Aikido between his 6 month Naval deployments. In 1999, the Navy moved him to Newport, RI. He studied Aikido and Iaido at Newport Aikikai with Damon Apodaca Sensei who is affiliated with the USAF. He only practiced a couple of times a month due to other commintments he had at the time. After a year, he moved back to Jacksonville but did not resume Aikido training until he moved here to Atlanta. Jay began his training with Larry Feldman Sensei approximately one and a half years ago. While training under Larry Feldman Jay has earned his 4th Kyu and now his 3rd Kyu.

Gregg Berg passed his 5th Kyu test. The Aikido portion of the test consisted of 16 techniques executed on either right or left side plus 4 other elective techniques, and a weapons test which included Jo Kata 31, Jo Kata 1, and Ken Awase.

Stephen Rohbacher - Shodan
Stephen Rohbacher passed his Shodan (Black Belt) test. The Shodan test consists of 2 seperate tests. The bare handed test consisted of approximately 200 techniques, including 128 required Aikido techniques, plus 50 elective Aikido techniques and approximately 20 weapons take aways which include the Tanto, Bokken and Jo staff. The weapons test which was given in a subsequent class consisted of various Bokken and Jo katas which lasted approximately 40 minutes.

Bill McNally - 1st Kyu
Bill McNally just took and passed his 1st Kyu test. The 1st Kyu test consisted of 128 core Aikido techniques and approximately 8 weapons take aways of the Tanto (knife).

Mitch Messer - Shodan
Mitch Messer passed his Shodan (Black Belt) test. The Shodan test consists of 2 seperate tests. Gregg Berg passed his 6th Kyu test. The Aikido portion of the test consisted of 8 techniques executed on either right or left side plus 3 other elective techniques, and a weapons test which included Jo Kata 31.
Gregg started his Aikido training in July of 2006 as a mentally and physically challenging fitness program to assist with his weight management.

Jay Rosa passed his 4th Kyu test. The Aikido portion of the test consisted of 36 techniques executed on both right and left side called out in Japanese, and a weapons test which included Jo Kata's 1, 2, and 31 and Bokken 7 cuts Suburi and Happo Giri.
